Nature Commons — turning private land into biodiversity reserves
How might we transform privately owned natural land from a financial burden into a biodiversity asset that rewards stewardship?
Anaëlle Charlemoine · Research, Design & Innovation StrategistI help public institutions, NGOs, corporations and mission-driven ventures design products, services and programs grounded in evidence and built for adoption.

User & field researchPeople-centered research across cultures and contexts, designed to include low-literacy and hard-to-reach groups — household immersions, community interviews, drivers of behavior change, user journeys and personas.
Service design & system thinkingJourney mapping, service blueprints and systems mapping for public services and NGO programs — connecting actors, processes and touchpoints into coherent, end-to-end experiences people actually use.
Facilitation & co-creationWorkshops designed and facilitated at any scale — from community formats to executive sessions — in French, English or German, on site or remote.
Capacity buildingToolkits, trainings and coaching that embed and empower human-centered methods in your teams — and change the collaborative culture of your organisation.
Impact venturesCorporate labs
Product discovery, market & UX researchQualitative and quantitative research across markets and cultures — user segments, unmet needs and competitive landscapes, synthesised into value propositions, journeys and confident product decisions.
Business model innovationFor social & sustainable ventures: business models where impact and viability reinforce each other — built on field evidence, stress-tested against product-market fit, designed to last.
Sprints, mentoring & trainingDesign sprints, problem-framing and value-proposition workshops; mentoring and hands-on training for your product and innovation teams.
Product ownership & agile deliveryAgile product ownership for your MVP — prioritised backlog, user stories and Scrum delivery, turning validated concepts into shipped product.
CollaborationSwiss canton of Zug, Bundesdruckerei, Engie, Clue, Voith, Deutsche Telekom, Volkswagen Group, Audi, BMW (MINI), Porsche, Deutsche Bahn, Continental, E.ON, Mars, BW Bank, Biotronik, Cleverbridge, Samsung, Colgate and SC Johnson, among others.
Case studies
Status & lessons: validating critical hypotheses and MVP prototyping.
Results & lessons: a validated value proposition and go-to-market strategy for lower-emission, locally anchored supply chains. Sustainability holds only if the weakest link earns a living.
Results & lessons: ~1M premium and close to 10M total users, with stronger long-term engagement. In health, trust is the product.
Results & lessons: shipped as Voith’s Hydropocket — winner of a 2023 Annual Multimedia Award. Accessibility is not a feature — it is the strategy.
Results & lessons: the framework became a reference model for the canton's future digital transformation. Institutional change is a service-design problem before a technology one.
Results & lessons: a strategic roadmap and build-ready specifications. In health technology, inclusion is the requirement — design for the least connected patient first.
Results & lessons: trust and local ownership increased. Dignity proved to be a key lever of lasting behaviour change — and a do-no-harm lens belongs in every WASH design.
Results & lessons: pilot service and business-model concepts, trained internal teams and lasting lab infrastructures. A lab is not a room — it is people with methods and permission.
Results & lessons: a shared lifecycle and a new way of collaborating internally to deliver an optimal customer experience. Retention is designed across teams — not owned by one.
Results & lessons: a detailed experience strategy with concrete measures, implemented for 2,800 leaders worldwide. Culture changes when strategy becomes something people can touch, use and practice.
Results & lessons: a concept and business model that turn underused private land into certified biodiversity reserves, supporting national restoration targets. Conservation scales when ecology pays — stewardship needs a business model.

Volunteering & social design
"I work as a translator and catalyst between the lived realities of people on the ground, and the organisations designing solutions for them."
Many solutions fail not because people resist change, but because they ignore real human, social and material constraints. The field taught me humility: observe, listen and understand local logics before acting. My work turns those observations into clear diagnoses — then into strategies, services and interventions that fit into people's actual routines, constraints and motivations, so that solutions are not just well-intentioned, but genuinely adopted.
About me ✺
Over 13 years in design and innovation consulting, I’ve accompanied corporations, startups and public institutions towards agile, human-centered innovation — driven by a long-standing commitment to fair trade, social innovation and inclusive business models. With 100+ co-creation and facilitation workshops, often in multicultural and low-literacy contexts, I guide teams through complex processes towards sustainable products, services and business models.
Impact areas ✺
Understanding how people actually live, decide and behave — on the ground, not in theory — to uncover the real barriers and levers behind a problem.
Turning raw observations into a clear picture: who is involved, how the system works, and where to act for the biggest effect.
Designing solutions with the people concerned — workshops, sprints and prototypes that build ownership and show what works before you invest.
Shaping services end to end: every step, touchpoint and backstage process aligned around the user's journey.
Connecting evidence to viability — value propositions and business models that hold up in the market and serve the mission.
Carrying the strategy into the build: prioritising, specifying and shipping with agile teams.
Whether you have a mission, a mandate or a team to join, I’d love to hear from you.
